Free time in Florence
During your free time, as an alternative to visiting the numerous museums and art galleries, Florence offers you a variety of things to see and do. Why not go to the theatre? In the center we have the Teatro della Pergola, the most prestigious of the city, the Teatro Vedri for shows and concerts, or the new Opera House just outside of the city center.
Not a fan of theatre? How about going to the movies? The Odeon, which is just a short walk from the Linguistic Center Dante Aligheri offers current and historical films, most of which are presented in their original languages, including English.
If you prefer music, you can come across pop up concerts in theatres, churches or many of the squares. You can listen to and enjoy live music in bars and even on the streets.
Florence also has many dance clubs with a variety of types of crowds and music. Spend pleasant evenings in the Santa Croce or Santo Spirito districts which can be very lively at night. Seasonal outdoor patios can be found everywhere. Wonderful places to just sit and chat with friends on cool evenings.
